I picked up the guitar around 16 years old, and learned to play with a chord book, and listening to music. We had a few records, and I listened to the guitarist I had access to over and over again to learn songs note by note. It was frustrating trying to drop the needle on the record at the exact spot to hear the segment I needed. CD's with the song time visible made that a whole lot easier. I would play for an hour or two every day, and my skills advanced quickly considering the lack of collaborators. Around 25 years old, business and family took up the time that used to be spent playing and the guitar sat mostly unused until I was in the process of resigning as the CEO of the business my amazing wife and best friend Sarah created 23 years earlier (Radiant Plumbing and Air Conditioning in Austin Texas). In the middle of this transition, I dusted off the guitar, and began a practice of playing daily again.
